The Netherlands set up a EURO 2024 semi-final clash with England after beating Turkey 2-1 in Berlin on Saturday. Turkey took the lead through Hakan Calhanoglu in the 46th minute, but the Netherlands hit back through Steven Bergwijn in the 54th minute and Wout Weghorst in the 73rd minute. The win means the Netherlands will face England in the semi-finals on Wednesday, July 12.

The Netherlands had the better of the chances in the first half, with Memphis Depay and Cody Gakpo both going close. However, it was Turkey who took the lead just after half-time when Calhanoglu curled a free-kick into the top corner.

The Netherlands responded well to going behind and they were level nine minutes later when Bergwijn finished off a move involving Depay and Gakpo. The Netherlands continued to press for a winner and they were rewarded in the 73rd minute when Weghorst headed home from a corner.

Turkey pushed for an equaliser in the closing stages, but the Netherlands held on to secure their place in the semi-finals. The win was a deserved one for the Netherlands, who were the better team on the night.

Ronald Koeman's side will now face England in the semi-finals on Wednesday. England beat Spain on penalties in the quarter-finals. The match is sure to be a close one, with both teams evenly matched.
