Iran Helicopter Crash: No Sign of Life After Helicopter Carrying President Located

Iran Intensifies Crackdown as Executions Surge

Iran's state media has reported that there is no sign of life after the helicopter carrying Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi was located. The helicopter, carrying Raisi and other high-ranking officials, crashed in a mountainous region of central Iran on Monday, according to the semi-official Fars news agency.

Prayers for Raisi

Following the news of the crash, people gathered in the Vali-e-Asr square in downtown Tehran to pray for Raisi and the other passengers. The Iranian government has declared three days of national mourning as the country grapples with the tragedy.

Intensified Crackdown

Meanwhile, the Iranian government has intensified its crackdown on dissent as a surge in executions has been reported. According to the Malay Mail, two women have been hanged in the past 5 hours, bringing the total number of executions in Iran this year to at least 55.

International Response

The United States has condemned the helicopter crash and expressed its condolences to the Iranian people. However, the US has also warned that the strikes on Iran-linked targets in Iraq and Syria are just the beginning. Israel has vowed to respond to Iran's attack on Saturday and is considering its next steps.
